Catch black carp in Oklahoma, collect $100 bounty

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and Tetra Tech are mapping the spread of invasive black carp throughout the Mississippi River Basin in a program called “Keep, Cool, Call.” Oklahoma anglers may participate in the program and earn $100 if they hook one of these fish and share the information about their catch.

Fort Towson Historic Site to host dutch oven gathering

FORT TOWSON –– The Fort Towson Historic Site will hold an event called “Dutch Oven Gathering” on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m.-noon. The event is free for participants and guests. All are welcome to participate in this informal event.

EOSC launches new degree program in Native American studies

WILBURTON –– Eastern Oklahoma State College is expanding its academic offerings with the launch of a new associate degree in Native American Studies, beginning in the upcoming academic year. The new program will provide students with the opportunity to explore the histories, cultures and contributions of Indigenous peoples of the Americas through a multidisciplinary approach.

Drummond takes action to stop robocalls reaching Oklahoma families

Attorney General Gentner Drummond today launched Operation Robocall Roundup, an effort to crack down on the robocalls that disrupt Oklahoma families every day. Drummond and a coalition of attorneys general are sending warning letters to 37 phone companies that are letting illegal robocalls pass through their networks and reach Oklahomans’ phones.
