LIFT Community Action Agency announces it has received a $5,000 Rural Oklahoma Community Grant from the Carolyn Watson Rural Oklahoma Community Foundation administered by the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

The regularly scheduled meeting for the Boswell board of education for Aug. 8 has been canceled due to a conflict of schedule.

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that three Oklahoma residents, Robert James Jackson, 31 of Hugo, Andre Cimone Golston, 35 of Idabel and Antwaine Tremaine Nelson, 33 of Idabel, were sentenced for federal drug charges. Jackson was sentenced to 168 months in prison for one count of distribution of methamphetamine, Golston was sentenced to 48 months in prison for one count of use of a communication facility, and Nelson was sentenced to 46 months in prison for one count of use of a communication facility.

HUGO — Hugo Chief of Police John Mitchell has confirmed that multiple felony warrants are currently outstanding for Jasmine Michelle Stubblefield, 37, as a result of her vehicle crashing into the Hill & Son Service Station on West Jackson Street in Hugo, and effectively destroying the service station fuel business.
