HUGO –– More discussion regarding property located near Cora Lee Roe Park was held during Tuesday’s Hugo city council meeting. The property near the park has been addressed at multiple council meetings and with differences of opinions between a few on the council, a motion was made during the meeting to allow the city’s attorney to investigate further and provide a legal opinion.

Candidates interested in filing for County office for any of the Choctaw County elected positions will file Declarations of Candidacy beginning 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 3.

The Hugo Area Chamber’s 97th Annual Awards Banquet –– “Treasured Businesses of Hugo” –– will be held April 25 starting at 6:30 p.m.at the Choctaw Casino & Resort in Grant.
