Graveside services for Alan D. Pelt, of Hugo, Okla., were held Friday, Feb. 14, 2025 at Sawyer Cemetery. Alan passed away Feb. 10, 2025, at the age of 61.

Alan D. Pelt was born on Feb. 23, 1963 in Hugo, Okla., the son of Ross Earl Pelt, Jr. and Rosie Lee (Ensley) Pelt. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, David Wayne Pelt.

Alan was a graduate of Grant High School, Class of 1982 and was a lifelong Choctaw County resident. He married the love his life, Sandra Hedrick on June 21, 1983 in Hugo, Okla. Alan worked for many years at Hugo Railcar and enjoyed repairing small engines. He loved hunting, fishing and camping but he loved his family above all. Alan also loved spending time with his grandkids showing them how to fish and tinker with things. His grandkids called him “Grampy,” and he was the best husband, dad and granddad. His passing has left a void in the lives of his family and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Alan is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Sandra Pelt of the home; son, Heath Pelt of Hugo; daughters: Cheryl Bartlett of Hugo and Anneka Graham and husband of Hugo; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Pelt and wife of Rogers, Ark.; sisters: Vickie Payne and husband of Paris, Texas, and Paula Dixon and husband of Louisiana, along with numerous friends, family and loved ones.

Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
