Anthony “Tony” J. McNellis

Memorial services for Anthony “Tony” J. McNellis, of Hugo, Okla., will be at 2 p.m. June 12, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Anthony passed away June 8, 2025, at the age of 73.

Tony J. McNellis was born on Jan. 19, 1952 in Dallas, Texas, the son of L.J. McNellis and Doris Evelyn (Thurmond) McNellis. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife and mother of his children, Sharon (Martens) McNellis; sons: Marten “Marty” McNellis and Matthew “Matt” McNellis.

Tony lived in Texas before moving to Hugo in 2020. He served as a firefighter for the Irving Fire Department for 30 years. Tony was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish and was a gun enthusiast. He was especially passionate about quail hunting and loved his bird dogs “Bo” and “Hayley.” Tony enjoyed riding horses when he was younger and reading, taking a special interest in western history. He liked to meet new people and made friends wherever he went. Most of all, Tony loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. Tony is survived by his loving wife, Shelia (Cloninger) McNellis; sister, Diane Baldwin and husband; a niece; sons: Brant Allen and wife and Mark Baugus and wife; daughter, Aubrey Maynard and husband; 10 grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; a brother-inlaw, along with a host of other family members, friends and loved ones. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Miller and Miller Funeral Home in Hugo.

Brant Allen will officiate the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
