Elvie Jo” Sissie” Peebles Logan was born April 7, 1945 in Swink, Okla., to Elva “Dink” Peebles and Gladys Davis Peebles. She grew up in Fort Towson and graduated high school there in 1964. She went to beauty school and became a beautician, later becoming a homemaker and raising her two children. She was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Swink. She lived most of her life in Fort Towson but became a resident of Elmbrook Nursing Home in 2019 and enjoyed all their activities, especially Bingo.

Due to an accident when she was a toddler, Sissie viewed the world through a child’s eyes, enjoying life and living carefree. As an adult, she loved to walk and would be seen walking all around Fort Towson. Sissie was an animal lover, she had many pampered pets throughout her life. She enjoyed crocheting and made beautiful dolls when her eyesight was good. She lost most of her hearing and eyesight early on but she adapted and still read books using a magnifying glass for many years. She was known at Elmbrook for her happy, yet stubborn nature, and for her hilarious tantrums when she didn’t get her way. She was a dedicated Nana and loved visiting and video chatting with her grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Dink Peebles, and one sister, Jean Peebles Setzer.

She is survived by one daughter, Lanette Davis, and husband of Blue Ridge, Texas, and one son, Troy Logan of Powderly, Texas; two grandchildren.

Interment followed the service at Fort Towson Cemetery with Stephen Wiese officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
