Funeral services for Gary Wayne Bone, of Valliant, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2024 at Trinity Baptist Church in Valliant. Gary passed away Aug. 4, 2024, at the age of 75. Gary Wayne Bone was born on Sept. 24 1948, the son of Bob Bone and Opal (Scott) Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Gary was a lifelong resident of McCurtain County, Okla. Upon graduation from Broken Bow High School, he enlisted in the US Army and honorably served his country. When he returned home, Gary worked for the Hugo Bus Barn for 12 years and as a mechanic for 31 years, until he retired. Gary married his loving wife, Janice Bone on Oct. 13, 2001 at their home in Valliant. He had an amazing faith in God and led Sunday School class and church choir for 10 plus years. Gary loved to go fishing in his free time and spend time with his family and friends. He was a wellrespected man, very cherished by his wife, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Bone of the home; son, DeWayne Bone of Beauford, Ga.; daughter, Julie Riley of Broken Arrow, Okla.; four grandchildren; brother, Larry Bone of Broken Bow and sister, Tammy Fines of Idabel, Okla.; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
