Funeral services for Jerry Paul Belvin, of Boswell, Okla., were held Friday, May 22, 2026 at Choctaw Nation Veterans Cemetery.
Jerry Paul Belvin, 77, passed on from this life on May 16, 2026, at his residence in Boswell. He was born on July 24, 1948, in Talihina, Okla. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Lou (Belvin) Hunt; sister, Judy Murray; and also by, Dante Arthur Belvin, Baby Belvin, Virgil “Buddy” Belvin, John Belvin, Henry “Poochum” Belvin, Richard Belvin, Vernon Belvin, Soloman Belvin, Lavada Duke, and Virginia “Weaver” Rutledge.
Jerry was a lifelong resident of Boswell and a long-time member of the Good Spring Presbyterian Church, where he attended with his family throughout his life. When Jerry was of age, he proudly joined the United States Army. He served several years as a helicopter mechanic before being wounded in the line of duty. Jerry later was honorably discharged and received a Purple Heart in acknowledgement of his physical sacrifice of service to the nation. After his time in the army, he moved to Oklahoma City to be closer to some of his family and then later returned to his hometown of Boswell in 1997. Jerry was very active in his local VFW and was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation. He enjoyed traveling all over the states, getting to see new places was something he truly enjoyed. Jerry was a known storyteller and loved visiting with his friends and family. Jerry is survived by his family, nieces and nephews, along with numerous other family, friends and loved ones.
Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
