Funeral services for Lawrence Austin Loftin, of Newberry, Fla., are tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m.
Friday, July 26, 2024 at Black Fork Cemetery in Nashoba, Okla.
Lawrence passed away July 19, 2024, at the age of 90.
Lawrence Austin Loftin was born on Sept. 24, 1933 in Hugo, Okla., the son of James K. Loftin and Canny (Martin) Loftin. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cathy Loftin; brother, Neil Loftin; sisters: Vada Arnold, Lorene (Loftin) Snowball, Ann (Loftin) Jonson and June (Loftin) Wilson.
Lawrence was a carpenter and builder by trade, he lived and raised his family in California until they returned to Hugo in the 70s.
He could build anything that he was asked to do, from cabinets to furniture. Lawrence loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but he especially loved to deer hunt. He also enjoyed water skiing and being on the water.
Lawrence loved his family and enjoyed every minute spent with them. His family will cherish the many memories they have of him.
Lawrence is survived by his son, Lawrence Lynn Loftin and wife of Messer, Okla.; daughters: Valerie Gee and husband of Antlers, Okla., and Robin Loftin of Newberry, Fla.; eight grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
Bro. Mike Mussett will officate the service, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
