The Soper Lady Red Bears defeated the Lady Scorpions by scores of 11-1 and 11-0 in Soper. SOPER — Freshman Kobi Rice led Soper’s Lady Bears in the first District title game against Boswell last week, going 3 for 3 at the plate with three RBIs and three runs scored.

LaSha Cook is new Lady Buff Head Coach

Hugo News Sports LaSha Cook was named the varsity Lady Buffaloes new head coach last week. Cook has been an assistant for the varsity and junior varsity Buffs for nine years and the head coach of the junior high girls basketball team and track team for eight years.

HUGO BUFFALO QUINCY SHELTON continues to draw looks from University of Oklahoma football staff. Over the weekend, Shelton was listed as one of 25 high school recruits who were invited to the Sooners’ Spring Red-White Football Classic in Norman. Shelton will be a junior in the upcoming football season.

Buffaloes beat Tish (8-5) and Okmulgee (11-7)

TISHOMINGO — The Hugo Buffaloes put two more Ws on their season schedule last week with wins over Tishomingo and Okmulgee. Against the Indians in Tishomingo, Trystunn Fleeks got the win for Hugo on the hill, throwing three innings with two strike-outs and two base on balls.

We’ve been so close in so many ball games, and we feel like we’re getting over the hump. Good things are coming.”
