TULSA — Hugo’s season came to an end Friday night in the first round of 2A playoffs. The Buffaloes fell to Cascia Hall, a private school in Tulsa, 55-6 to end their season at 7-4.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) has confirmed that a small percentage of early harvested deer in the state have tested positive for SARS-CoV-2. A spokesperson for the department stated, “At this time, we do not know how deer contract the virus, but we do know that all of us (vaccinated and unvaccinated) are a potential source of infection to other species.

ANTLERS — After one of their most impressive football seasons in many decades, the Antlers Bearcats soundly defeated the Pocola Indians Friday on their home turf to advance to the second round of the Oklahoma Class 2A football playoffs.

The Fort Towson Tigers split games with the Bennington Bears last week, with the boys claiming a 48-32 win and the Lady Tigers falling, 53-27. Kaden Wilson led the boys with 22 points, followed by Omar Gardner with 11.

The Hugo Buffaloes capped off a strong regular season with a 32-20 win over Hartshorne Friday night. Hugo moved to 7-3 (5-2) on the season, putting them behind Antlers and Eufaula in district rankings.

The Clayton Bulldogs shut down the Soper offense in the second and third quarter to put up an 11-point (36-47) victory over the Red Bears last week. The teams were pretty evenly matched and opened with identical 9-point tallys in the first quarter.
