Boswell man arrested after contraband drop

• Purchasing receipt left in the bag CHOCTAW COUNTY –– A Boswell, Okla., man was arrested in early August after law enforcement was notified of a possible contraband drop at the Howard Mcleod Correction Center. According to official reports from ODOC resident agent in charge Keith Hawkins, Joe Clay Harris, 38, allegedly dropped a package containing 982 grams of dry tobacco, four lighters, five books of rolling paper and one receipt from the Choctaw Travel Plaza in Boswell.

MUSKOGEE –– The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Jeffrey Lyn Pierce, age 74, of Hugo, Okla., was sentenced to 327 months in prison for one count of murder in the second degree in Indian Country.
