FORT TOWSON –– On Saturday, Oct. 14, from 1-3 p.m., Charles R. Lemons will present at the Fort Towson Historic Site. He will be discussing mid-19thcentury weapons and uniforms. Lemons is the retired curator of the Patton Museum of Cavalry and Armor in Fort Knox, Ky. He is the author of 30 books on subjects like U.S. Army World War II uniforms and the American Civil War.

• During safe sleep and SIDS awareness month OKLAHOMA CITY – One of the leading causes of death in babies one to 12 months old is sleep-related infant deaths, including Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), accidental suffocation and strangulation in bed. HUGO — Two felony counts of shooting with intent to kill were filed on Sept. 28 on two Choctaw County men, following a shooting incident into a home located on Fallon Road southeast of Hugo.
