Oklahoma State Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax announced that the State Election Board recently published the results of postelection audits conducted in 2023 –– including an audit of election results in all 77 counties for the State Question 820 held on March 7, 2023.

Mass replacement action approved by USDA-FNS due to storm-related food losses

The United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service (USDAFNS) has approved Oklahoma Human Services to automatically replace 45% of the June 2023 benefits issued to current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients in counties severely affected by the June 17 severe storms. Counties approved for mass replacement under this USDA-FNS waiver include Atoka, Creek, Johnston, Mayes, McCurtain, McIntosh, Muskogee, Payne, Pushmataha, Rogers, Tulsa and Wagoner. More than half of all households in these stormaffected counties sustained extended power losses, affecting their ability to maintain safe temperatures for foods.

June was Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, a time to encourage national conversation about brain health and raise awareness to improve health care outcomes. Over six million Americans are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Of that number, 67,000 are Oklahomans. Anyone who is impacted by Alzheimer’s understands the gravity of this disease and the hardship endured by both the individual and the loved ones surrounding them.

Deadline to apply for AEDP grant or loan set for July 3

OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahomans seeking a grant or loan through the Agriculture Enhancement and Diversification Program have until July 3, 2023, to apply. The AEDP is designed to develop or improve uses for agricultural products, expand Oklahoma’s production of value-added products and to encourage diversified farming.
