Two executive orders signed by President Donald J. Trump aimed at advancing the aviation industry support the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) programs that highlight unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and advanced air mobility (AAM). The orders are designed to promote innovation, domestic manufacturing and security.

ANTLERS –– On June 10, 2025, the Antlers Police Department requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate a homicide. Just before 2 a.m., officers responded to a shooting at a residence near Northwest C St.

Celebration –– Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future –– will be held Saturday, June 14. The parade lineup will begin at 5 p.m. at Gene Nesbit Stadium and end at Cora Lee Roe Park, where the opening ceremony will begin.

The Fort Towson annual Homecoming celebration begins Friday, June 13 with a pancake breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Classes of the 70s will meet in the FCCLA room; classes of 2000 and 1995 will meet at the Depot at 6:30.

Soper residents are excited about the recent opening of their DOLLAR GENERAL STORE on the city’s northeast side. The new store is managed by someone who knows their way around the community and is a 1994 graduate of Soper High… Jason Long. Jason says he graduated high school with the town’s current Mayor, Carey Lester, and says the city has done everything it could to assist in the opening of the new retail facility. Assistant Store Manager Kathy Messick says the community has been excited and friendly in welcoming the new store, which has a total of seven new employees. Soper residents will be anxiously awaiting next month’s sales tax reports from the Oklahoma Tax Commission, so they can see how the new store’s sales will affect tax revenue that can be used to improve the entire community.

HUGO — Previously charged with multiple felony counts in connection to her slamming her automobile into Hill & Son Service station resulting in its destruction on March 18, 2024, Jasmine Michelle Stubblefield has been sentenced to five years in prison on counts one and two of her charges. Assistant District Attorney Jeff Mixon and District Judge Emily Maxwell agreed to drop charges three through nine of her initial charges.

HUGO –– On May 15, 2025, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) sent a cybertip to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) regarding child sexual abuse material.

The Fort Towson 4-H Forestry Judging junior and senior teams won top honors in the State Forestry Contest held at Robbers Cave, north of Wilburton. The 4-H members had to take a test over general forestry knowledge, identify insects and diseases, participate in compass and pacing, identify trees and how they are used in Oklahoma, and measure saw logs. The teams winning at State were:
