Blue River: Elevation is normal and rising, water temperature 75°F and murky. Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass excellent on crankbaits, crawfish, jigs, topwater lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, creek channels, river channel, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Bluegill, green, and redear sunfish good on crickets, in-line spinnerbaits, and worms around brush structure, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Channel catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, punch bait, stinkbait, and worms around brush structure, creek channels, river channel, and rocks. The OU Board of Regents approved adjustments to multiple coaches’ salaries during its meeting last week. Roger Kish, who was hired as OU’s head wrestling coach on May 2, and Matthew Mott, who was hired as OU’s head women’s soccer coach on April 30, received base salaries of $220,000 and $240,000, respectively, through 2028.

OU Daily OKLAHOMA CITY — After Stanford starter Alana Vawter allowed a leadoff base hit to right fielder Rylie Boone in the fifth inning, a familiar face replaced her in the pitchers’ circle. It was NiJaree Canady, the nation’s leader in ERA (0.57), who held the Sooners to two runs on six hits in six innings during their first matchup on Thursday.

Sooners dominate, headed to Super Regionals

After three dominant victories in the Norman Regional, Oklahoma (54-1, 18-0 Big 12) will face Clemson (49-10, 18-6 ACC) in a three-game series in the Norman Super Regional. The Sooners will appear in their 13th consecutive Super Regional, hosting for the sixth consecutive time. OU hasn’t been eliminated in a Super Regional since 2015.

The Buffaloes’ spring practice came to an end on Tuesday after nine days of hard work that gave onlookers a glimpse into what’s to come in the fall. The main takeaway from the spring is that there are a number of changes coming for Hugo in the 2023 season, and they’ll be looking for leaders to step up and help guide the rest of the team through unchartered territory.

Last Monday the Buffaloes took the field inside Gene Nesbit Stadium for the first time since November, officially kicking off spring practice. Hugo is losing a large number of starters to graduation this month, so spring practice is being dedicated to figuring out where the Buffs stand and how they move forward.
