Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass slow on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure, river channel, rocks, and weed beds. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, punch bait, and stinkbait around brush structure, channels, and rocks. BY ODWC Game Wardens Posting private property with “No Trespassing” signs is equally important to deter trespassers and successfully press charges against those that ignore the warning. “I have a trespasser!” That might be the most common call I receive as a game warden, and the trend will likely continue as more properties are divided and developed.

The USA Glory 12U softball team based out of Valliant, Okla., coached by Jeremy Smith, won the USSSA Southeast National Championship this past Fourth of July week in Nashville, Tenn. Three of the girls on the team reside right here in Choctaw County and proudly represented us here in small town Oklahoma this past week on a National stage.

Lucile Morehouse, daughter of Nathan and Autumn Morehouse of Boswell, Okla., competed in the United Taekwondo Alliance Grand Nationals this year in Plano, Texas. Morehouse is a student under Master Rick Arnold with Arnold’s Martial Arts in Sherman, Texas.
