Barbara Jo Bohan, affectionally known to her family as Sue, passed away peacefully on New Year’s Day, 2024, and gained a new body and mind after a four-year battle with dementia and cancer. Barbara was born on April 11, 1942, in Hugo, Okla., to Melba Weems (Helton) Hernandez and Raymond Helton, and her life was marked by her infectious laughter, keen intelligence and an indomitable spirit.

Memorial services for Barbara Jean Yoder, of Fort Towson, Okla., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024 at Valliant Church of Christ. Barbara Jean (Crockett) Yoder, a cherished wife, godmother and friend, passed away on Dec. 17, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born on Dec. 16, 1949 in Brownwood, Texas, to Betty Jean (Hawkins) Crockett. Barbara was preceded in death by her mother. Barbara is survived her husband, Paul Yoder; her God-daughters: Darla Christine Groeger, Shelby Mae Hull and Cortney Lee Morris; along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

Frankie Joe Hurlburt, known affectionately to all as Joe or PA, embarked on his final adventure on Dec. 24, 2023, at the age of 78. Born on Nov. 27, 1945, in the quaint town of Honey Grove, Texas, Joe’s life was a tapestry woven with laughter, love, and the kind of mischief that leaves a lasting smile. He took his last breath in Hugo, Okla., after a valiant dance with dementia and lung disease, but not before he had left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
