Boeing announces grant to UCO

Boeing, the world’s largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial jetliners, recently announced it will award a $30,000 grant to the University of Central Oklahoma School of Engineering to advance its new makerspace. The grant will fund the Boeing Reverse Engineering and Rapid Prototyping Lab, which will be in the new engineering makerspace located on Central’s campus.

Sen. Burns files bill to eliminate ‘Squatters’ Rights’

George Burns, R-Pollard, has filed Senate Bill 456, which would eliminate the ability to claim any portion of a landowner’s property by adverse possession or “squatting.” “While squatting has always been an issue, we saw a huge uptick in recent years as buildings were vacated during the pandemic,” Burns said.

Walter “Butch” Hufnagel

Walter “Butch” Hufnagel passed away Jan. 17, 2023 at Brentwood Terrace Nursing Home in Paris, Texas. He was born on Sept. 28, 1938 in Okarche, Okla., to John and Mildred (Higdon) Hufnagel, the ninth of 11 children. He married Carol Graehler in Jasper, Ind., on Nov. 7, 1964. God blessed their marriage with five children.
