SEOLS celebrates library card sign-up month with new designs

The Southeast Oklahoma Library System (SEOLS) is excited to celebrate Library Card Sign-Up Month by unveiling six new library card designs, available for a limited time! These designs feature unique and vibrant images to appeal to all ages, including a sea turtle, the scenic Talimena Drive, an arrowhead with a scissortail flycatcher, books, a buffalo, and a dinosaur.

Memorial services for Ruthie Mae (Hall) Smith, of Oklahoma City, formerly of Hugo, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2024 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Ruthie passed away with her family by her side on Sept. 13, 2024, at the age of 78.

Born on Sept. 20, 1934, in Maud, Okla., to Harry and Bonita Richburg, Mary’s life was a testament to the power of love and devotion.

Georgia E. Boykin, age 89, of Oklahoma City, Okla., passed away on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024. She was born in Lone Wolf, Okla., on Sept. 3, 1935 to Dewey and Birdie (Wright) Riley. She married the love of her life, Garland Boykin, in 1951, and they were together until his passing in 2017. They had four children together.

Lajauana G. Milam, a woman of selfless love and gentle optimism, passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2024 in Ardmore, Okla., losing her courageous battle to Parkinson’s Disease and Metastatic Breast Cancer. She fought these battles like she lived her life, one day at a time, although they slowed her down, she never gave up. Born on Feb. 20, 1951, in Denver, Colo.

Billie passed from this life on Friday, Sept. 20, 2024, while being cared for by her husband of almost 79 years, Leon Cogburn at their home together. Her family was her pride and joy.
