She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers: JL Ellis and Jimmie L. Ellis.

Paula Sue Bounds, a cherished soul known for her adventurous spirit and selfless love, departed from this world on May 15, 2025, in her birthplace of Hugo, Okla. Born on Oct. 20, 1957 to the late Rita Sue Williams and Paul Basil Williams, Paula Sue spent her lifetime creating a legacy of warmth and giving in the very town that cradled her first breath. Known affectionately as Paula Sue, she embraced life with a vivaciousness that inspired all who knew her. Her journey alongside her late husband, John Knox Bounds, was one of partnership and devotion, a testament to enduring love. A loving foundation was built for her family, which includes her daughters: Kendra Mandrell, Kacy Baker and Caitlin Bounds; her stepchildren: Heather Bounds-Knox, Jordan Bounds and Sarah Bounds; as well as her brother, Jeffrey Williams, and sister, Trisha Wade. Paula Sue’s presence as a matriarch will be profoundly missed, but her influence will resonate through generations.
