Ag groups call on congress to enact Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act

Exactly 365 agricultural and related groups have sent a letter calling on Congress to enact the Agricultural Labeling Uniformity Act, a bipartisan bill the groups say is needed to protect access for farmers and the public to safe, well-regulated pesticides. The groups — which represent millions of pesticide users from farmers to scientists, and mosquito control to public land managers — say the legislation would reaffirm and clarify long-standing provisions in federal pesticide law regarding labeling requirements.

OCA announces rancher resilience grant

The Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association (OCA) announces they are planning to once again collaborate with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association to offer the Rancher Resilience Grant to 73rd Annual Convention and Trade Show attendees. This partnership will be made possible by the National Cattlemen’s Foundation and Cargill Protein.

Night tour of Fort Towson Historic Site set for June 7

FORT TOWSON –– The Fort Towson Historic Site will host a nighttime guided summer tour of the grounds on Saturday, June 7, from 8:30-9:30 p.m. Staff will lead guests through parts of the expansive property in a rare chance for visitors to be on site after dark.

Albert B. Meyer, Jr., a cherished husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, at the age of 78, in his hometown of Hugo, Okla. Born on Sept. 6, 1946 in Hugo, Albert lived a life marked by kindness, dedication and a love for his community. Albert was a man of deep faith and unwavering values. He graduated from Hugo High School and worked in Hugo as a barber for 11 years before joining the Hugo Fire Department. He later moved to Muskogee and spent 32 years there working track rail maintenance for the Frisco Railroad. It was upon his return to Hugo that he met the love of his life, Ruth Adams. The couple united in marriage on Jan. 24, 2012 in Dallas, Texas, and together they created a home filled with laughter and love.

Born on Aug. 5, 1944 in Klamath Falls, Ore., Les was a man of intelligence, adventure and boundless creativity. He spent his final moments in Hugo, surrounded by the love and warmth of his family.
