Frank Wolf, of Hugo, was the winner of the Hugo News Football Contest after choosing 20 out of 24 games correctly. Wolf guessed closest (387) to the Hugo Buffaloes’ total yardage (450) to edge out Lindy Loftin, Michael Plummer and Edward Johnson.

Contributing Writer SOPER — After sweeping the Regional Tournament, the Soper Lady Red Bears are headed once again to the Oklahoma Class B State Fast Pitch Tournament. In the Regional playoffs, the ninth-ranked Lady Red Bears took on eighth-ranked Moss and 21st-ranked Kremlin-Hillsdale twice.

Soper baseball season comes to an end..

The Soper Red Bears baseball team lost to Dover, 12-2 and Red Oak, 6-4 in the Regional playoffs and were eliminated. While an unfortunate end to the season, it was a very impressive season as the Red Bears turned their fortunes around under coach Seth Springfield..
