Choctaw Nation opens second Judicial Center in McAlester

The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) has opened its second Judicial Center in McAlester, OK to improve access to justice for residents in the reservation’s northern counties. The new facility will help reduce congestion at the Judicial Center in Durant and shorten travel for families involved in guardianship, divorce, and juvenile cases.

Humphrey welcomes library staff to Capitol

OKLAHOMA CITY –– Justin Humphrey, R-Lane, on Wednesday welcomed staff from the Southeast Oklahoma Library System to the State Capitol for Library Day. New Hope Church of God, 238 Bearden Springs Rd., in Hugo is holding a garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. May 2. The Raymond Gary Lake Association (RGLA) will host its second annual Ladies’ Spring Tea on Saturday, May 9 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the Historic Wilson House in Fort Towson. This Mother’s Day weekend event includes a three-course lunch, tea bar, games, raffle, and tours of the Historic Wilson House. Guests are encouraged to wear their favorite tea hat and enjoy a fun afternoon together. Registration deadline is May 5, 2026. The RGLA is currently selling raffle tickets for a beautiful, handmade queen size quilt (90” x 93”). The drawing will be held on May 9, 2026, at the Ladies’ Spring Tea. You do not have to be present to win. The quilt is on display at Fort Towson Marketplace on Hwy. 70, where tickets can be purchased. Tickets are also available at Fort Towson City Hall during normal business hours.
