David Hillock Senior Extension Specialist Horticulture Caterpillar pests are common on many landscape plants and can cause mild to severe damage depending on plant species and number of caterpillars present. Control of caterpillars may not be necessary in some instances because their numbers are kept in check by numerous natural enemies such as parasitic flies and wasps, disease, predator insects and birds.

Local Food Freedom Act signed into law

Soper students earn scholarships from Choctaw County Democratic Party

The Choctaw County Democratic party sponsored a scholarship during the 2025-2026 school year for essays on Eleanore Roosevelt and the 1948 United Nations Declaration of Human rights. They offered $500 to each Choctaw County High School for the best essay, and another $500 for the best essay across all four high schools.

Humphrey welcomes library staff to Capitol
