While a significant amount of paper is manufactured in the U.S., a significant percentage of newspaper stock is manufactured in Canada. The Trump tariffs are expected to create significant financial hurdles for small newspapers and their publishers.

This April 1, Choctaw County voters will have more races open in a single election day than for elections held for at least a decade and maybe two or more. County voters will decide on two Boswell School Bonds and a Valliant School Bond election, a Rattan School Board election, Trustees for the Town of Boswell and Council Members for the City of Hugo, then all county voters in all voting precincts will participate in the Choctaw County Tax Question.
