Funeral services for BJ Youngblood, of Wright City, Okla., were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant.

BJ Youngblood, age 47, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020 at Fort Towson, Okla. BJ was born Nov. 26, 1973 in Dallas, Texas, the son of the late Benny Joe Youngblood and Mandy Youngblood. BJ grew up in the Stringtown and Hugo area. He attended Hugo High School, where he was an active member of the FFA and graduated in 1992. BJ earned his BA degree in Meat Science at Wilburton in 1994. He joined the United States Navy and served his country for two years. BJ married Adeline Tidmore on June 24, 2000 in Herndon, Okla.

BJ had many years of working as a butcher, meat dresser and lumberyard foreman and for the past 17 years, he was an Engineer Conductor for Weyerhauser / Patriot Railroad. BJ enjoyed hunting, mechanic work, fishing, camping, restoring classic vehicles and building race cars. When BJ wasn’t working and wasn’t enjoying a hobby, you could find him spending time with his kids or back roading with his wife. BJ was preceded in death by his father, Joe Youngblood; grandparents: O.A. and Corda Youngblood and Robert and Maggie Story; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Amabel Tidmore; siblings: Benny Keith Youngblood and Artie Chancellor.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Adeline; a son, Joseph Riley and daughter, Eden Kimberly Grace Youngblood, all of the home; mother, Mandy Youngblood of Hugo; siblings: Belinda Youngblood-Diaz, Larry and Donna Youngblood of Port Aransas, Texas, Clifton Youngblood of Port Aransas, Russell and Brenda Chancellor of Hugo, Timothy Chancellor and Joe Dale Youngblood, along with many loved family and friends.

Services were under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
