Dwight Lathan, born on Sept. 3, 1954 in Antlers, passed away on May 29, 2026 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 71. He lived a life marked by hard work, quiet strength, and a spirit that was both handy and adventurous, leaving behind memories that will be cherished by those who knew and loved him. Dwight spent much of his working life serving others through his career as a Route Salesman and truck driver for Pepsi Co. He was dependable, steady, and committed to doing his job well. His work reflected the kind of man he was, one who understood the value of responsibility and took pride in earning his way through honest labor. Those who worked with him knew him as someone who could be counted on, and his presence was appreciated for both his skill and his easygoing nature.

Outside of work, Dwight found joy in simple pleasures and the comfort of familiar routines. He enjoyed working in his yard and spending time outdoors, where he could stay busy and take satisfaction in caring for the spaces around him. He also liked scrapping copper, a pastime that suited his practical nature and his ability to see value in things others might overlook. When he wanted to pass the time, he played casino games on his phone, and he often enjoyed listening to podcasts and music.

He is survived by his son, Kevin Lathan. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl A. Lathan; his mother, May Belle Yates; his wife, Glenda Kay Thompson Lathan; and a son, Kenneth D. Lathan.
