Herby Paul Childers, of Valliant, Okla., passed away July 10, 2024, at the age of 80.

Herby Paul Childers was born on March 18, 1944 in Albuquerque, N.M., the son of Herby C. Childers and Pauline Elizabeth (Oldfield) Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers: Melvin Ray Childers and David C. Childers.

Herby had been a resident of Valliant since 1977 and worked as an electrician at Kimberly Clark for more than 20 years. He also had his own electrical and heat and air business in Broken Bow for four years. Herby and Dorothy Jean Childers were married for 40 years and together they raised their sons in Valliant. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing and having a good time. Most of all Herby loved his family and spending time with them. Herby is survived by his sons: David Childers and wife of Ponca City, Okla., Danny Childers of Valliant and Ronny Childers and wife of Hugo; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; former wife, Dorothy Jean Childers; sister, Linda Morris and husband, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home in Valliant.
