Funeral services for Houston Howard Goddard, of Grant, Okla., were held April 23, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Houston passed away April 18, 2025, at the age of 71.

Houston Howard Goddard was born May 29th, 1953 in Jasper, Ala. He was one of five children born to James Thomas Goddard and Evelyn Juanita (Cowan) Goddard. He graduated from McKinney High School, Class of 1971. Houston was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Elouise Holley and Willodean Day; and a granddaughter.

Houston married his loving wife, Donna Sue (Haynes) Goddard on Nov. 26, 1971 in McKinney, Texas. Houston and Donna moved to Sawyer, Okla., in 1979 where they built a house and raised their family. Throughout Houston’s life he worked many jobs. From managing grocery stores, working as a contractor, flooring and roofing houses, to working events at the Choctaw Casino in Grant and running the Grant RV Park with his wife Donna, until the day he died. Houston thought about retirement, but he enjoyed working, socializing, and he especially enjoyed bragging to his family and friends about how many steps he got in a day, upwards of 19,000 on most days. Houston loved spending time with his friends and family. Whether it was a barbecue, a fish fry, crab boils on the back porch, a big breakfast with buttery biscuits and his homemade hashbrowns, playing dominoes, fishing or cruising around Hugo Lake in his pontoon boat. He loved to share stories of his life with anyone who would listen and loved to make others laugh. Houston is survived by his wife, Donna Sue Goddard; daughters: Paula Thompson, Tammy Evans, Kim Robinson; son, Matt Goddard; 11 grandchildren; a great granddaughter; sister, Jan Lewis and brother, David Goddard, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Interment followed the service at Sawyer Cemetery with Randy Mayfield officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
