Graveside services for Jimmy Junior Himes, of Hugo, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Jan. 12, 2021 at Shoals Cemetery in Hugo. Jimmy passed away Jan. 8, 2021, at the age of 61.

Jimmy Junior Himes was born on May 14,1959 in Shoals, Okla., to Paul and Patsy (Walker) Himes. He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeremy Edward Himes; and his brother, Danny Himes.

Jimmy joined the United States Army on Feb. 20, 1979 and served his country until February of 1983. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., where he completed the wheel vehicle course and received the Mechanic badge along with the Parachute and Expert M-16 badge. Jimmy was a proud Veteran.

Jimmy was a farmer and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and working with horses. Jimmy especially loved his family and enjoyed playing with his grandkids. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jimmy is survived by his son, Bobby Joe Johnson of Grant, Okla.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brothers, Johnny Himes of Sawyer, Okla., Jerry Himes of Frogville, Okla., David Himes of Fayetteville, Ark., and Rodney Himes of Enid, Okla.; sisters: Phyllis Gunnels of Grant, Eva Keeling of Lavaca, Ark., Dimple Wickson of Frogville, Okla., Wanda Sargent of Hugo, and Wilma Himes of Hugo, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

The Rev. Mike Bryant officiated the services, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
