Lessie Liles

Lessie Liles passed away on Sept. 25, 2025, at the age of 84 in Hugo, Okla. Born on May 2, 1941, in New Mexico, the daughter of Tom Harrison Donaghe and Shirley Dee (Tanner) Donaghe. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Shirley Tommy Donaghe Ellis, and by her beloved daughter, Ilean (Liles) Bloodworth.

Lessie’s legacy continues through her devoted son, David Liles Jr. (Shirley), of Hugo, Okla.; her sister, Jimmie Donaghe Baldwin of Odessa, Texas; and two brothers: Tom Donaghe and wife, of Oklahoma City, Ronney Donaghe and wife of Mexia, Texas; and her grandchildren.

Professionally, Lessie served as a State Cattle Inspector, a role that showcased her dedication and work ethic. Her contributions to the industry were significant, and she was highly respected by her peers. In her leisure time, Lessie was an avid reader, finding joy and solace in the pages of countless books. Lessie’s sewing skills were unparalleled, as she crafted shirts, leather belts, and dresses for her family, each piece a labor of love and a cherished gift to those who received them. Graveside services were held Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at the Bill Darrough Pavilion in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
