Linda Ann Irvin
Linda Irvin, age 78, passed away on July 25, 2026, in Hugo, Okla.
Born on Jan. 12, 1948, in Beaumont, Texas to Buddy and Josephine Collins, she lived a life of devotion to her family, her home, and the simple joys that brought her happiness.
Linda’s greatest joy in life was her family. She loved with her whole heart and found purpose in caring for those around her. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, where no one was left hungry. She lovingly prepared meal after meal, often making different dishes just to ensure everyone had exactly what they enjoyed. Care for others came naturally to her, and she found happiness in the simple act of making those she loved feel comforted and cared for.
She also had a special love for flowers and plants. Tending to her beautiful yard brought peace, and the vibrant blooms she nurtured reflected the warmth and beauty she shared with everyone around her.
Along with her caring spirit, Linda had a wonderful sense of humor. She had a gift of making people laugh, and time spent with her was always filled with smiles, stories and cherished memories.
Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered and treasured forever.
After graduating from Fort Towson
High School, Linda attended Carl Albert Junior College and later met Earl Dean “Indian” Irvin in Poteau, Okla. They married and were blessed with two children.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dean “Indian” Irvin; her parents Buddy and Josephine Collins; and her brother Jeff Collins. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
She is survived by her son Dr. Mike Irvin and his wife Tammy; her daughter Deana Jo Irvin; her grandchildren, Nicholas Taylor and his significant other Alexis Dees, Manny Irvin, and Kamber Batchelor and her husband Jeremy; her brother, Randy Collins; special cousins, Sharla Frost and Gwen Frost; and special friends, Margaret Johnson and Debra England. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory and the love she shared so freely.
The family will receive friends during a family hour on Wednesday, July 29, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Prater-Lampton-Mills Funeral Chapel. A service celebrating Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at the Prater-Lampton- Mills Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service Linda will be laid to rest in the Shoat Springs Cemetery.
Linda Irvin will be remembered for her devotion to family, her love of flowers, her sense of humor and ability to always make others laugh. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and the value of a life well lived.
