Body

Funeral services for Linda Clancy Jaffe will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2025 at Powderly Methodist Church.

Linda was born July 9, 1947 in Hugo, Okla., and passed away Feb. 23, 2025 in Austin, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Ruby Clancy, and her husband, Ronald Jaffe.

Linda taught high school English at JJ Pearce High School in Richardson for 30 years, then taught ESL in the Lewisville, and Little Elm school districts. As an adult, she also continued to play and coach tennis at a very high level. At Hugo High, Linda was a top tennis player, a trumpet player, and a very proud Buffalo cheerleader.

After retirement, she moved to Powderly where she volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and sang in the choir at Powderly Methodist Church. Further, she enjoyed her multi-hour walks around her neighborhood. While Linda is remembered for her career and her volunteer work, she is mostly known as someone who would rather help anyone before herself. Her selflessness and good nature are something we can all emulate. Linda loved her family and spending time with her kids and grandkids. While they miss her terribly, her memory will live on in their hearts. Linda is survived by her sons: Gage, Casey and Dennis Meeks; her daughter-in-law, Sara Meeks; and her stepdaughter, Tracy Simonsen; her grandchildren: Topher Meeks, Olivia Meeks, Elise Meeks and Dillon Simonsen; and her siblings: Joe and Carlene Clancy.
