Body

Rodney James Ward, of Hugo, Okla., passed away June 5, 2026, at the age of 53. He was born on Feb. 7, 1973 in Coalgate, Okla., the son of Danny Ward and Patricia “Pat” (Tomlinson) Ward. He was preceded in death by his father.

Rodney was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma and spent most of his life in Stuart but had lived in the Hugo area for the last two years. He married his beloved wife, Wendy Kizer, on July 14, 2017 in McAlester. Rodney joined the United States Army National Guard at the age of 17, and later proudly served in the Active Duty Army for many years before returning to the National Guard for several years. Rodney worked many jobs throughout his life, those jobs always being something to do with a truck. From semis, to dump trucks to bobtails, there wasn’t a truck he couldn’t drive. He was also a known tinkerer, always working on different things. Beyond his love for trucks, he enjoyed researching and learning about the many different conspiracy theories in the world, always ready to share them with his family and friends. Most of all, Rodney loved his family; his kids and grandkids were truly the center of his world. Rodney is survived by his wife, Wendy Ward of the home; sons: Tristan Ward of Stuart, Okla., and Jacob Ward of Indianola, Okla.; daughters: Lynsey Jordan and husband and Megan Fowler and husband, all of Stuart, Okla.; five grandchildren; mother, Pat Ward of McAlester, Okla.; brothers: Jeff Ward of Ada, Okla., Joe Ward of Coalgate, Okla., and Tim Ward of McAlester, Okla., and sister, Danna Parker of McAlester, along with many other family, friend and loved ones.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
