Rufus Carl Sales

Rufus Carl Sales, of Fort Towson, Okla., passed away Dec. 9, 2025, at the age of 93.

Rufus Carl Sales was born on Oct. 2, 1932 in Fort Towson, the son of Olae Bire Sales and Lydia (Gibson) Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorris (Ward) Sales; numerous siblings and a granddaughter.

Rufus grew up in Fort Towson and joined the military at an early age. He proudly served his country and after 40 years, he retired. Rufus spent most of his time in California but returned to Fort Towson followed by his retirement in the early 70s. He later worked for Weyerhaeuser and enjoyed his labor work there.

Rufus survived by his granddaughter; his favorite nephew; an ex-son-in-law, which he thought of as a son; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family.
