Tommy Crowder

Funeral services for Tommy Crowder, of Boswell, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home. Tommy passed away May 6, 2025, at the age of 79.

Tommy PM Crowder, the son of Thomas and Lola Crowder, was born on Dec. 22, 1945. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and follower of Christ. He was a member of the Choctaw Tribe, an Army Veteran and always a cowboy.

Tommy went home to be with the Lord on May 6, 2025. He left behind a legacy of love, faith and quiet strength. Tommy was the kind of man whose presence brought comfort, whose actions spoke louder than words and whose heart was always full of kindness.

Tommy proudly served his country in the Army where he earned a bronze star. He later dedicated his career to working as an electrician for Choctaw Electric Co-op, where he was known for his steady hands, strong work ethic and dependability.

After work, you could usually find him in his cowboy boots and hat, tending to his animals, working in the garden, hunting or strumming his guitar and singing gospel hymns.

He had a deep love for his family and was especially proud to be a grandpa. Papa’s grandchildren will forever remember his gentle hugs and the funny little sayings that made him uniquely him –– like calling pancakes “pancookies” or saying he was “fuller than a baboon” after a big meal. Papa delighted in calling all the kids and grandkids every year to sing them the Happy Birthday Song, in the silliest voice he could muster. Tommy was preceded in death by his mother, father and siblings. He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Dorothy Crowder; daughters: Julie Korf and husband, Shane, Sonya Dills and husband, Randall and son, Geron Crowder and Kristin. He leaves behind seven adored grandchildren: Destiny Dills, Mariah Stamper and husband, Bailey, Maddie Nelson and husband, J.C., Gabriel Korf, Camryn Crowder, Brody Crowder and Brinley Crowder. He joyfully welcomed into the world his great-grandson, Banks Stamper.

A sweet and humble man, Tommy never complained and never sought the spotlight. His faith in God, love for his family and quiet strength will live on in the memories of all who were lucky enough to know him.

Interment followed the service at Restland Cemetery with Bro. Jerry Cooper and Bro. Jonathan Hooker officiating, under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
