It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cecil Grant Cowling, 92 of Springdale, Ark., and a longtime resident of Hugo, Okla. He passed away peacefully on Aug. 7, 2026. Cecil was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

Funeral services for Mary Ann Freeman Jeffries, of Hugo, Okla., will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026 at South Central District Building in Hugo. Mary passed away July 28, 2026, at the age of 69. Mary was born March 26, 1957.

Lawrence Eugene Testa passed away peacefully at his home in Hugo, Okla., surrounded by loved ones, on Aug. 1, 2026. Born on Feb. 25, 1940 in McAlester, Okla., to Italian immigrants Sara (Giacomo) and Joseph Testa, he was the youngest of five children.

Funeral services for Luther L. Harris, of Grant, Okla., will be held at 12 p.m.

Services for Fred Averill Burns, Jr., were held Monday, July 27, 2026 in Hugo, Okla., at the Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Kyle Cummins. Burns passed away July 23, 2026 in Hugo, at the age of 88.

Services for Lou Cheshier Wilkins were held Wed., July 29, 2026 in the Boswell Lighthouse. Burial followed the service in the Restland Cemetery in Boswell, Okla. Lou Cheshier Wilkins passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, in Kingston, Okla.

Linda Irvin, age 78, passed away on July 25, 2026, in Hugo, Okla. Born on Jan.

Roland R. Dancer Roland Ruel Dancer passed away on July 22, 2026 in Paris, Texas, at the age of 95.

Ruby Lee (Lang) Maynard, 85, was born on June 30, 1941 in Rufe, Okla., the daughter of Reed Lang and Rosie (Easterwood) Lang. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Albert (Buck) Lang; her husband, Tommy Wayne Maynard; and her daughter, Pamela Keeling.

Blossom resident, Janice (Matthews) McClain, 73, passed on from this life on July 22, 2026, in McKinney, Texas. She was born on July 23, 1952, in Burley, Idaho, to Gene Frank Matthews and Mary Ellen (Hathaway) Matthews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
