Gearl Wayne Archey, age 81, peacefully departed this world on Oct. 21,2023. The family enjoyed the last Friday night with him in OKC, laughing and relishing his trademark “possum grin.” He was born on April 20, 1942, in Soper, Okla, the son of W.E. and Johnnie (Goforth) Archey. Gearl’s journey through life was filled with love, laughter and dedication to his family and passions. He was preceded in death by his father, William Edgar; his mother, Johnnie Archey; his brother, Harold Archey, and his cherished grandson, Chris Archey.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a beloved Texan, a devoted brother and uncle, and a dedicated servant of God. Billy was called to his eternal rest on Oct. 7, 2023, at the age of 69, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Elizabeth was a woman of unwavering dedication, and she poured her heart and soul into the betterment of our beloved town. Her tireless efforts were felt in every corner of our community, as she generously devoted her time and energy to numerous organizations close to her heart. She went to her Heavenly home on Oct. 2, 2023, at the age of 93. Going home ahead were her parents, John and Nola; her husband, Paul Lane in 2017; siblings: Miriam Burke Fulfer, Charles Knight, Edmond, Jr. Knight and wife, Cleda, LeRoy Burke, Sherman Fulfer; dear nephew, JE “Jim” Burke.

Edwin Moore

Funeral services for Edwin Moore were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2023 at 7th Day Adventist Church in Hugo, Okla., with Pastor Erwin Nanasi officiating. Burial followed at Shoat Springs Cemetery. Edwin passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023 in Hugo, Okla., at the age of 64. Edwin J. Moore was born on Nov. 23, 1958 to David Robert and Barbara Jean Moore in Deming, N.M. He was born to a large and extended family. Even though he had to deal with a lot of trials and tests, his strong determination and faith brought him through. He always would say dynamite comes in small packages. He was a private, loving person who would love to be in what he would say is God’s country with those he loved. He will be missed by all who knew him and loved him. Rest in peace my beloved husband!
