Hugo News Sports DICKSON — The Hugo Buffaloes beat Dickson, 20-14 in a dramatic last-second win on the road Friday night. Tied at 14 with 16 seconds to go, the Comets were in the red zone with one play left to keep the game from going to overtime when senior Quincy Shelton pulled down the game-winning interception and took it all the way down the field for a touchdown.

The Soper Lady Red Bears beat Bennington, 15-0 in a game that only lasted 36 minutes. Freshman Clacee Mack pitched a great one hitter and Soper scored 15 runs in just two innings of work. It was one of the most convincing wins by a local team in years.

Contributing Writer The fifth-ranked Soper Lady Red Bears were runners up in the Caney Tournament last week. Soper lost to third-ranked Caney, 9-8 in extra innings and 3-0 in the tournament finals. The Lady Red Bears won the other four games including beating sixth ranked Stuart ,2-1. Soper’s record is now 23-5 on the season.
