Choctaw photographer showcases wildlife, landscapes in new exhibit

• Gene Blackwell’s work featured at Choctaw Cultural Center starting April 29 Choctaw citizen and wildlife photographer Gene Blackwell will debut his latest exhibition at the Choctaw Cultural Center this spring. The exhibition titled, Kowi Haiaka Ikwehpowo (Unspoiled Wilderness): Photography from the Round Bottom Ranch, opens Tuesday, April 29 and highlights the natural beauty of Choctaw Country through Blackwell’s lens.

• Hugo residents plead guilty to interstate transport of stolen goods The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that Matthew Carl Wilson, age 38, and Candice Marie Logan, age 35, of Hugo, Okla., entered guilty pleas to one count of interstate transportation of stolen goods, punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
