Hugo News Sports The Lady Buffaloes fell to Madill 79-55 on homecoming last Tuesday despite a strong second half performance. Hugo got out to a slow start, scoring just six points in the first quarter and 11 in the second.

IT WON’T BE LONG before we hear the umpire yell “PLAY BALL” at Hugo’s Shull-Bywaters Park. Working hard to get the field into top shape for the upcoming season over the past weekend were Charlie Bob Wibben, Tim Lemmons, B.J. Lemmons and Coach Scott Schier. The group put in a number of hours improving the dirt and leveling the infield in preparation for some late-winter grass. Stopping to make a financial contribution to the effort was former Hugo Buffalo Mike Ford.

Hugo News Sports The Lady Buffs went 1-1 at the Hugo Festival over the weekend, showing noticeable improvement from the beginning of the season. While the festival got off to a rocky start for Hugo, falling to Broken Bow 59-31, there were still plenty of positives for the Buffaloes.

Hugo News Sports Both nights of the inaugural Hugo Basketball Festival ended with fans on the edge of their seats inside Simon Parker Gymnasium over the weekend. The Buffaloes closed out both nights of the festival, and both games went down to the wire with Hugo coming out on top of the Oklahoma City Storm, 53-48, and falling to McAlester, 62-56.

OKLAHOMA CITY — In response to years of feral hogs causing extensive damage to property and agriculture in rural Oklahoma, Sen. Dusty Deevers, R-Elgin, has introduced SB478, the Free to Hunt Feral Hogs bill, designed to remove all required permits for hunting feral hogs and free Oklahomans to protect their land, crops, and livestock from their destructive impact.

Sad to say, but not every child has a “Merry Christmas.” There exists turmoils, family separations, and financial burdens which subjugate the lives of children to the point that it’s a “not so merry time of the year.” My heart goes out to those children.
