Agnes Joan (Murcray) Allen

Agnes Joan (Murcray) Allen, of Hugo, Okla., went to her heavenly home on Feb. 7, 2025, at the age of 85.

Agnes was born on March 11, 1939 in Au Sable Forks, N.Y., the daughter of John M. Murcray and Viola Mae (Forbs) Murcray. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Phillip Murcray and sister, Ruth Hamilton.

Agnes grew up in New York and is where she met the love of her life, Emil Lloyd Allen. They were married on April 27, 1957 and later moved to Oklahoma where they made their home together.

Agnes worked many years as the manager of the Antlers Public School Lunchroom where her children attended and later was employed at Walmart and the Shoe Department in Hugo. Agnes enjoyed reading, sewing, bird watching and cooking for her family and friends. Above all else, she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Agnes will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Agnes is survived by her loving family; husband, Emil L. Allen of Hugo; children: Patricia Mae Cochran, Gregory Dale Allen and wife and Ronald Dean Allen; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Stone; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
