Burley Sutterfield

Burley Sutterfield, a cherished husband, father, and above all a papa, passed away peacefully on Feb. 8, 2025 in Antlers, Okla., at the age of 85. Born Aug. 5, 1939, he lived his life next to his wife Elizabeth for 60 years. He had many jobs over his lifetime, but the papa title was his complete favorite one. He will be forever and always known as one of those people you met one time and never forgot his face. Whether he used his witty comments or a small piece of life advice he would give you, nobody ever walked away after a conversation without a huge smile on their face.

Burley is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth; daughter, Angela Sanchez of Hugo; three grandchildren. Burley was preceded in death by both of his parents; his two sons: Timothy and Joseph, and his grandchild.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2025 at Mt. Olive Funeral Home Chapel in Hugo, which was in charge of arrangements.
