Donald Ray “Duck” Motes, of Fort Towson, Okla., passed away Feb. 24, 2025, at the age of 53.

Donald Ray “Duck” Mote was born on July 13, 1971 in Gainesville, Texas, the son of William Lee Mote and Donna Maye “Taylor” Mote. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother:, William Lee “Shorty” Mote, Jr. and Edward Leon Mote.

Duck was a lifelong resident of Fort Towson, Okla. He married Sue Huskins on March 30, 1990 at Southside Baptist Church in Hugo. Duck worked as a corrections officer for Choctaw County, Okla., and most recently at the Public Works Authority for the city of Fort Towson.

He loved being outdoors, grilling or sitting on the front porch listening to his music. Duck enjoyed joking around with people and giving them a hard time. More than anything else, he loved his family and spending time with his girls. Duck will truly be missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Mote of the home; daughter, Alecia Huskins of Broken Bow, Okla.; four grandchildren; sisters: Sussie Faye Mote of Lake Dallas, Texas, Barbara Haggard of Hugo, and Ramona Dunlap of Hugo, along with a host of other friends and loved ones.

Arrangements are under the direction of Miller & Miller Funeral Home.
