Graveside services for Robert Glenn Smith, of Grant, Okla., were held at 10 a.m. Aug. 20, 2024 at Grant Cemetery.

Robert Glenn Smith, born on May 28, 1953 in California, to Robert L. Smith and Sue Smith, passed from this life on Aug. 17, 2024, in Grant, Okla., at the age of 71. Despite facing many health struggles throughout his life, Glenn never let them stop him from pursuing his passions and anything else he set out to do.

In his earlier years, he was an accomplished taxidermist, combining his love for hunting and fishing with his skilled artistry. A selftaught guitarist, Glenn had a deep love for music, especially rock and roll from the 60s and 70s, as well as gospel music, reflecting his deep love for Jesus, which was a cornerstone of his life.

Glenn lived most of his life in Grant, where he cherished spending time with his family. He particularly enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren about the outdoors, hunting and fishing. These moments together were some of his most treasured memories. Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Alice Smith of Grant; his three sisters: Bobbie Cabra of Gallatin, Mo., Teresa Allen of Mexia, Texas, and Terry McClain of Grant; his daughters: Karen Cooper and husband of Yukon, Okla., Alicia Smith of Ringold, Okla., and Rebecca Gilley and husband of Valliant, Okla.; six grandsons; two granddaughters; a great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Smith and Sue Smith, and his brother, Jerry Smith.

Glenn’s love for Jesus, his family, music, and the outdoors will be remembered by all who knew him.
