NORMAN — The Rattan RAMS journeyed to Norman in the first weekend of the fall 2022 baseball season and took on a rank Calumet Cheiftain team. The Chieftains bounced out to a 1-0 first inning lead and expanded their lead to 5-0 after three innings of play.

Gundy resignation shakes SOONERS

Oklahoma wide receivers coach Cale Gundy has tendered his resignation after reading a “hurtful” word in a team film session last week, he said in a statement Sunday. Gundy, a former Sooners quarterback from 1990-93, has been an assistant at the university since 1999.

Saving the Rock Pocketbook mussels in the Kiamichi River has been the fight for saving the Kiamichi River also. For years the citizens of the region have pleaded with the state of Oklahoma to help realize the mussels’ status as endangered and protect them from loss of water by selling or appropriating too much water from the Kiamichi River. As of July 22, 2022, Oklahoma City has presented us a new face, and changed their minds. Here’s the gist of it:

DURANT — The Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma (CNO) has qualified three teams for the World Series of Stickball this year. Local players have already participated in preliminary matches to compete at the 72nd Choctaw Indian Fair, on the Choctaw Indian Reservation in Mississippi.

Sportsmen concerned about new federal law proposal

OKLAHOMA CITY – State Sen. Mark Allen, chairman of the Oklahoma Sportsman Caucus and member of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation executive council, said he has grave concerns regarding the introduction of House Resolution 8167 in the U.S. House of Representatives. The resolution would repeal the landmark Pittman-Robertson Act of 1937, which Allen said has been a critical measure to fund wildlife conservation efforts across the state and nation.
