HUGO BUFFALO ALUMNI team members who battled the No. 2 rated Hugo Buffalo basketball team during a Homecoming confrontation last week included: G’ Quavious Lennox, Kamin Jackson, DeMarcus Turner, Kiefer Lester, Erick Hilbert, Jalen Ray, Kyon Freemon, Kelin Scott, Brandon Debo, Houston Gregg and D.J. Shanklin. Also seeing action for the Alumni were DeeDee Grant and Donte Dangerfield.

I am a retired basketball coach from Byng and a member of the following Hall of Fames: The Oklahoma Coaches Association, the Oklahoma Basketball Coaches Association, as well as the Oklahoma Tennis Coaches Association and Murray State College.

RAMS ARE MC-6 CHAMPIONS! The Rattan Ram basketball team recently defeated the previously undefeated Valliant Bulldogs (77-52) after previous wins over Fort Towson (48-32) and Haworth (72-36.) Members of the team include: Alisha Williams-Johnson, Coach Michael Clay, Grady Grimmett, Coy Green, Luke Clay, Logan Smith, Cale Clay, Cal Birchfield, Christian Hickman, Davin Parsons, Keegan Robertson, Jace May, Jake Echelle, Bryce Jackson, Jonah Vance, Cailin Jamison, Courtney Reese, and Assistant Coach Melanie Burgess. Players getting special honors for the tournament included: Cal Birchfield — All Tournament; Jace May — Most Valuable Player and Cale Clay — All Tournament.

(Standing, L-R) Kelicia Cook, Jaycee Taylor, Alexis McLemore, Jordan Holman, Chanda Barnett, Zoe Gilmore, Jenna Skelton and manager Alyssa Gallant. In addition to being the first HHS Cheer Squad to qualify for State, the team was also voted Southeast Oklahoma Area Best Squad earlier this year.
