Stickball events coming up

The Choctaw Cultural Center is calling for all stickball players to prepare for three upcoming events. One training and two tournaments are scheduled.

Boys & Girls Club offers summer feeding program

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Red River Valley, Okla., will be participating in the 2026 Summer Feeding Program (SFSP). Each site listed will offer a healthy, nutritious breakfast and lunch to any school-aged child in our community. Each site will serve meals Monday through Friday, with breakfast from 8 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 12 to 1 p.m.

Second annual Ladies’ Spring Tea a sweet success

The Raymond Gary Lake Association (RGLA) hosted its second annual Ladies’ Spring Tea on Saturday, May 9 at the Historic Wilson House in Fort Towson. The event was a tremendous success and a beautiful celebration of fellowship, history and community spirit.

Library receives donation

Robert Kelley, Hugo High School class of 1963, recently made a $25,000 donation to the Choctaw County Library board, going above matching fundraising efforts by the board in the amount of $11,000. According to board chairman Jerry Beach, with the library being a 501(c)3, it relies heavily on donations.
