Over the holiday period, two SOSU students took the opportunity from the time out of school to showcase their skills on a national stage. Dylan Cernero and Jesse Gardner competed as a team and as individuals in the American Cornhole League’s Collegiate Championships.

FORT TOWSON — The Tigers of Fort Towson defended their home court last week putting up two wins over Highway 70 rival Soper. The Lady Tigers came out on top of a 38-26 battle over the Lady Bears, despite a disastrous first quarter.

ADA — The Lady Buffaloes ended their long stretch of tournaments on Saturday morning in Ada, falling to Ponca City 46-35 in the final game of the East Central Oklahoma Classic. Hugo has been on the road nonstop since the season started, playing in a number of tournaments and festivals against opponents in larger classes than theirs.

Hugo News Sports IDABEL — The Hugo Lady Buffaloes went 1-2 at the Idabel Winter Classic over the weekend, finishing the tournament with a 66-23 win over Idabel junior varsity. Hugo started the tournament with a 57-40 loss to Hooks, followed by a 75-33 loss to Douglass.

Hugo News Sports OKLAHOMA CITY — After two wins at the Star Spencer Festival last weekend, the Lady Buffaloes are starting to build momentum. Hugo beat Epic Charter Schools, 35-29 on Friday, followed by a 55-30 win over Star Spencer on Saturday to move to 4-4 on the season.

Hugo News Sports OKLAHOMA CITY — The Hugo Buffaloes went 1-1 at the Star Spencer Festival over the weekend, beating Star Spencer, 73-46 and falling to Classen SAS, 43-31. Hugo got out to a quick start Friday night, led by senior duo LaMarcus Davis and Daiquan Lennox, who combined for 41 points.
