With a young team and only two games under their belt this season, Hugo knows there’s plenty of room for growth and improvement, and coach LaSha Cook is looking forward to that process.

Buffs off to fast start with solid win over Broken Bow

Hugo News Sports BROKEN BOW — The Buffaloes beat Broken Bow 43-34 in their second game of the season and final game of the Broken Bow Classic on Saturday evening. After a slow start in the first half, Hugo came out of halftime with renewed energy and put on a clinic in the paint in the second half.

Fort Towson wins thriller!

Contributing Writer FORT TOWSON — In the first half, both Legacy Christian and Fort Towson utilized a full court press with hyper aggressive play from their point guards. One would reach in and steal the ball and be headed the other direction, while the other would come from behind and steal it right back. When they appeared settled, a simple pass to the wing would be picked off and headed the other direction. It was controlled chaos by both squads with exceptional defense and quite poor offensive play.
DAYJANA ADKISM was crowned Homecoming Queen and is flanked by King, Brayden Baker. The flower-girl and ringbearer were Azaria Sims and Brax Davis.

Williams drops 42 to lead Boswell over Soper, 86-34

Contributing Writer In just his third high school game, Boswell freshman Terrance Williams scored 42 points in an 86-34 victory over Soper. This was almost half of his team’s points. This was more than the entire Red Bear basketball team. It was an outstanding performance.
